The management of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Ghana, has denied reports that songstress Wendy Shay has been stripped of her ambassadorial role.
There were reports on Monday that the Ghanaian Afropop and afrobeat singer had been sacked as an ambassador of YEA following her photo gaffe.
The reports were spurred by the omission of Wendy’s name from a list of celebrities working for the YEA as ambassadors.
The list had Kwabena Anokye Adisi, Journalist/ CEO, EIB Group / Start-Up consultant; Bryan Amoateng, Pastor, Author, Life Coach, Entrepreneur, Founder, International Youth Empowerment Summit (IYES) who is also the President, Bryan Jones Outreach; Jackie Appiah, award-winning actress, entrepreneur; Bibi Bright – Actress, Entrepreneur, Humanitarian; Emelia Brobbey – Actress, Trained Teacher and Journalist; Rebecca Donkor – CEO, MakeUp Ghana, Start-Up Consultant, Founder/CEO Healthcare Management.
The media inferred from this that Wendy Shay had been dropped following the viral circulation on social media, of a sexy photo she took with former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
But responding to the claims on its official Facebook page, the management of YEA said: “Wendy Shay has not been sacked as an ambassador of YEA.”

I DO NOT SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE OUTFIT SHE WON DURING THE VISIT TO HIS EXCELLENCY PREZ KUFOUR. STOP YOUR NAIVE ATTITUDE AND LET THE YOUNG ARTIST BE!
YEA is so proud to say this. Shame on them. You are defending this ***barred word*** and unscrupulous behaviour by Wendy Shame. Square pegs in round holes. U-se-less.
