Viasat 1, Ghana's leading entertainment television channel has successfully introduced a news page on its viewer-focused, interactive website www.viasat1.com.gh.
The site which was launched in December 2010 was designed in direct response to Viasat 1's research into increasing internet penetration in Ghana and the desire to leverage this platform to increase “top-of-mind” awareness for the channel.
The news page on the channel’s website provides patrons with up to minute news updates from the channels news machinery and is expected to drive a large following in quarter 2 and onwards of 2012. In addition the news feature will give viewers a platform for direct
interaction with the news room. http://www.viasat1.com.gh/v1/vnews/.
Viasat 1 Chief Executive Charlotte Gustavsson says: “With the recent exponential growth of internet users in the country it has become necessary to continue to reach out to our viewers and clients through this medium. We want them to be able to further our position
on the market, thus our quest to tackle all possible frontiers.”
“The news page is the natural next step. Viasat 1 has realized the need for a one-stop website that offers as much information online as possible.” She added.
To live up to expectations of our clients, viewers and target group of entertainment and news savvy people this one-stop-website is offering a complete range of information from the VIASAT 1 NEWS machinery, Charlotte Gustavsson, CEO of Viasat Broadcasting G Ltd, explained.
The main features of Viasat1.com.gh are:
• general information about the various programs on air
• contact information of the channel
• weekly program schedule
• general information on channel activities
• News and lifestyle information
• Personality profiles for on-air persons
• Corporate Social responsibility updates and viewer interaction
The combination of the news- feature and the unseen range of information about all the channel’s programs that's provided is really a gigantic step towards becoming number 1 not only on-air but on-line as well.
It will surely make the viasat1.com.gh the first choice for young-on-the-move viewers and clients alike to search and find their television experience heightened. Viasat 1 News airs everyday at 7:30pm.
