Reports making rounds in the Garden City indicates that ace actor Kofi Adu popularly known as Agya Koo, is quitting acting to start a new career in the radio industry.
The award-winning actor is said to be flirting with the newly established radio station in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, Metro 94.1 FM, where he is expected to work as a DJ, Beatwaves gathered.
Having won almost all the accolades to be won in the local movie industry, Agya Koo, who is blessed with several talents, sources told the paper, wants to venture into the radio industry and make a huge impact.
The popular actor, the paper learnt, has agreed on a mouth-smacking deal with management of Metro FM to start working with the station which has already started its test transmission. His programme on Metro FM will be aired from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. every day.
The paper has even chanced upon several pictures of a cheerful-looking Agya Koo, dressed in Metro FM colours, playing sumptuous music to his thousands of listeners in the city.
The paper has also spotted several flashy cars of Metro FM, decorated with Agya Koo portraits with the inscription “DJ Agya Koo”, moving on the streets of the Garden City, lately.
Agya Koo, who has carved a niche for himself in the Ghanaian movie industry as one of the highest paid actors, is also a musician who has performed alongside a number of seasoned music stars.
Metro FM has the vision of offering professional and technologically advanced radio broadcasting to its listeners in Ghana and beyond with focus on youth, sports, news, economics, business, politics, tourism and entertainment development.
