Lydia Forson’s debut appearance in the South African soapie SCANDAL, airs on Thursday April 4, on etvSA. Miss Forson is playing the “eccentric and vivacious character of Aku,” the producers have said.
Aku embarks on an online dating mission and soon sets her eyes on Kila (Siyabonga Shibe). She makes her way to South Africa to pursue this interest, and found herself competing with Gloria (Marjorie Langa) for Kila’s attention.
Aku is confident and seductive and leaves no table unturned in luring Kila into her arms.
“Scandal has an ever-growing and loyal viewership in South Africa and other African countries,” Ilse van Hemert of SCANDAL says.
“In particular, Ghana has proved to have a strong fan base and we wanted to acknowledge the support in our storylines. We are excited to be featuring one of Africa’s most esteemed actresses on Scandal and trust viewers will enjoy this storyline.”
“We are proud to create opportunities for talented African artists,’ says e.tv Group head Monde Twala. ”As an African broadcaster, it is our responsibility to provide a platform to showcase diversity from across our Continent.”
