Reports reaching BEATWAVES indicate that Multi TV and Adom Fm will soon lose some of their staff to other radio and television stations in the Accra Metropolis.
According to the reports, some TV and radio stations have started poaching some selected staff of Multi TV and Adom Fm after the departure of Adakabre Frimpong Manso, one of the most listened to morning show hosts on Adom Fm and Kojo Preko, a producer of the show.
But the management of Adom Fm, which could not face the heat when Kojo Preko was leaving, quickly made a u-turn and negotiated for Kojo’s return to the station as producer of the morning show currently struggling to survive after the exit of Adakabre Frimpong Manso.
The ace broadcast journalist, Adakabre Frimpong Manso, after he left Adom fm, landed himself a new job as morning show host, head of programmes and head of news at the newly established Neat 100.9 FM belonging to the Despite Group of Companies which operates Peace 104.3 FM, Okay 101.7 FM, Hello FM and United Television (UTV).
Many listeners of Adom FM’s ‘Dwaso Nsem’ morning show have lamented over Adakabre’s exit.
Multimedia, owners of Adom FM, were quick to replace Adakabre with Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart, former morning show host of Kumasi-based Fox FM.
Adakabre’s movement to Neat FM would serve as a big blow to Multimedia considering his clout, fame, following, experience and the fact that he is moving to a competing brand.
Speculations are rife that the management of Multimedia Group, operators of Adom FM, Joy FM, Hitz FM, Asempa FM, Nhyira FM, Luv FM and Multi TV, is also making moves to persuade some the presenters who have declared their intention leave, to stay.
BEATWAVES investigations indicate that some top presenters from Multi Media have already begun negotiations with some radio and TV stations.
BEATWAVES gathered that the presenters took the decision to relocate to the new stations because of the poor administrative structures and personality clashes.
The said presenters will soon tender their resignation letters to the management of Multi TV and Adom Fm, the paper gathered.
BEATWAVES further learnt that some of them have secretly started packing their personal belongings before handing over their resignation letters.
Unconfirmed reports also indicate that the channel manager of Adom TV on Multi TV, Ricky Anokye and Kofi Adomah Nwanwani, Adom Fm’s news anchor and presenter, are among those who will soon resign from Multi TV and Adom Fm respectively.
But when the outspoken Ricky Anokye was contacted, he could not deny or confirm the story saying, “I am still at post working as the channel manager of Adom TV”.
On his part Kofi Adomah told BEATWAVES in a chat that he is still at post and actively involved in all activities of Adom Fm.
When asked further whether he has plans of leaving Adom Fm, his response was: “For now, I am still working with Adom Fm”. He declined to comment further but promised to grant BEATWAVES an interview very soon.
