Africa’s sweetheart, Sika Osei, host of Studio 53 Extra on DSTV 151 is making history in her quest to fly high the flag of Ghana.
She was in the country last week to shoot the first fully Ghanaian episode of Studio 53 Extra and it is expected to start airing on DSTV 151 in a couple of weeks.
Hitherto, there had never been a completely Ghanaian episode of the programme watched by television viewers all over the African continent. Though previous episodes had captured a couple of Ghanaian celebs, they had largely centred on content from Nigeria and other parts of Africa.
“I am so happy and it would be the first of many,” Sika revealed in an interview and said viewers should stay tuned for the show of their lives.
Studio 53 Extra is a world class magazine show on television that celebrates Africa’s talents and energy. The show gives detailed insight on the creative arts sector of Africa and focuses on movies, music, fashion, red carpet events and showbiz icons.
Having a full all Ghanaian-content episode certainly gives a big boost, by way of exposure, to the country’s entertainment industry. It also creates a priceless marketing and promotional opportunity for the country’s showbiz players.
Sika Osei has attracted new audience within weeks of anchoring her own episode of 53 Extra on Africa Magic. She is a budding Ghanaian actress and TV presenter under the label of BBnZ Live, a multi-purpose entertainment cum media company.
Sika is a solicitor, having recently completing an LLB programme at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
