Eight Basic Schools Set To Battle For Honours At 2012 Milo Junior Ball On Saturday

After weeks of intense debate and tough talk, eight schools drawn from three regions will finally set the pace in the finals of the 2012 Milo Junior Ball.

The battle for supremacy and to settle once and for all the best in basketball at the Junior High School level this year will take centre stage at the El-Wak stadium with massive expectations this Saturday.

Central regional duo Mfantsipim and Catholic Jubilee will be strong contenders for the title with debutant Akosombo International School and Eastern regional champions Roman Catholic also in the frame to challenge for honours.

There will also be the threat that will be posed by the quartets in the Greater Accra region: Kalvary School, Garrison Basic, Base Ordnance Depot and the Ghana Lebanon and Islamic School.

There are no clear cut favourite for this year's finals after the qualifying schools exhibited amazing team character and spirit during the regional qualifiers.

The next three days will be a short one with eight participants expected to emphasis the uniqueness of the hugely-popular championship.

Specifically, the level of preparations in the pursuit of success and also the eclectic mix of teams, players and their respective supporters who will tumble down from each corner of the Eastern, Central and Greater Accra regions to fight it out for the coveted title.

The competition is expected to attract thousands of crazy basketball fans with hiplife music sensation Guru expected to entertain the crowd with his hugely popular 'Lapaz Toyota' single while fans favourite Ayibge Edem will also be in full flight.

There will also be Cheorography and Rap competitions.

As the curtain draw closer, one fact is sacred. A new champion will emerge and you will have to make up your own mind up as to who will succeed Air Force Basic School.
