American basketball player, Chris Bosh revealed three cardinal rules he envisaged young players aspiring to play the game to inculcate during his supervision of basketball coaching clinic in Ghana as he tipped off the 3-day promotional drive spearheaded by NBA Africa and the Ghana based Sprite basketball tournament.

Bosh arrived in Accra on Thursday and is scheduled to hold another basketball clinic in Cape Coast in Ghanas Central Region on Saturday following the success of Accra on Friday when he also answered the questions of Ghanaian journalists at a press conference before the action on the basketball courts of the Aviation Social Centre got underway.

First of all, always work hard. Its very important. Secondly, respect not only the person next to you but yourself, your teachers and your parents. Then third, you have to be disciplined in whatever you do whether on or off the basketball court, Chris Bosh told a group of Senior High students who were also present to take part in the coaching clinics.

Side attractions were a slam dunk competition and an all-star game watched by the 2-time NBA champion and NBA Africa team whose President, Amadou Faye expressed delight at the success of the event this year following on the heels of the success of last year when two other NBA stars also came down to undertake similar projects as the strive to develop and unearth talents on the continent intensifies.

We are grateful for the partnership with Sprite and all the basketball people in Ghana. It was very encouraging to see all this energising moves on the court, NBA Africa President, Amadou Faye said.

We have very talented people here, all they need is support and encouragement to develop and hone their skills and the sky will be the limit. Thank you Ghana, thank you Sprite and looking forward to seeing you next year, Mr. Faye added.

After doing Cape Coast on Saturday, Chris Bosh and the NBA Africa team are billed to hold a closing ceremony in Accra on Sunday before finally saying goodbye to Ghana on Monday to conclude their 5-day visit to the West African country.
