Deputy Chief of Staff at the Office of President Akufo-Addo, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has played host to the Kumasi Girls Senior High School basketball team, which emerged winners of the national Sprite Basketball Championship.
In a statement on his meeting with the ‘winning girls,’ Mr. Asenso-Boakye, a seasoned politician expressed delight in knowing that young girls from the Bantams Constituency were actively engaged in sports.
According to him, sport “has tremendous potential to accelerate our (Ghana’s) socio economic development.”
He added that sports must be a critical component of our educational system and promoted in all settings.
The Deputy Chief of Staff revealed “I was humbled by their expression of appreciation for my token contribution towards their well deserved victory.”
Meanwhile, he has urged the girls to as he puts it, remain focus as they progress further in their education and aspire for greatness in their future endeavors.
