Metro TV, a leading private television station in the country, will on Saturday, August 13, beam live the unification bout between Ghana’s International Boxing Federation (IBF) Bantamweight Champion, Joseph “King Kong” Agbeko and the undefeated World Boxing Council (WBC) Champion, Abner Mares, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, United States of America (USA).
Metro TV, with exceptional hallmark in sports broadcasting, will bring to her cherished viewers detailed pre and post bout analysis, including excerpts of both boxers’ previous fights.
According to a statement from the station copied to GNA Sports, seasoned boxing pundits will be on the panel to discuss this historic fight and analyze the advantages and odds that both fighters will come into the ring with as a tonic to the fight.
Metro TV will also provide boxing fans the opportunity to participate in the discussion through phone-calls and text messages, as well as the opportunity to predict the winner of the fight, which will also come with attractive prizes.
The fight is expected to determine the best in the Bantamweight Division, with Agbeko entering the bout with 30 fights, 28 wins and two loses while Mares boast of 22 fights with 21 wins and 13 knock-outs and with no loss.
The championship was originally scheduled for April 23, but had to be re-scheduled after Agbeko was knocked off with sickness whilst on his way to the Las Vegas City for the fight.
