Tomorrow’s crunch WBO Africa featherweight championship between Isaac Dogboe and George Krampah will mark the highest point in the careers of the two combatants.
As a result the two camps have indicated that there will be no dull moment in the 12-round championship which is expected to produce a lot of fireworks at the premises of the Aborigines Beach Hotel in Sogakope in the Volta region.
And Dogboe, a majority favourite has expressed confidence of winning his first major silverware despite the threat he faces from Team Krampah which has not hidden their intentions of silencing the young but enterprising Dogboe who is based in the United Kingdom.
An official close to Team Krampah told the Times Sports early this week they are fully aware of what Dogboe represents but Krampah will neutralise every plan their opponent brings.
Though he stopped short of predicting the round to end the fight, the Team Krampah official, speaking on conditions of anonymity said ‘we are not promising anybody victory in a particular round. What we know for sure is that Krampah will be declared the new WBO Africa champion after brutalising Dogboe. The distance would depend on them, as to how far they can go.’
But Dogboe prefers to do his talking in the ring.
However, he sounded a word of caution for his opponent. ‘Krampah should be moderate in his promises to his supporters. It is important that he doesn’t raise the expectation of his followers so high because they will see none of them.
“I have two targets in coming for this fight. The first is to win the title with a good display. The second would be to improve my record and make a huge statement of intent.”
Dogboe currently boasts of an impressive 8-0 record less than two years after joining the pay-per-punch rank and would improve after defeating the hard-hitting Krampah.
Fans that throng the venue will also catch a glimpse of two of Ghana’s famous boxers, Michael Ayitey Powers and Braimah ‘Bukom Banku Kamoko’ in respective fights.
Banku will take on Sylvester Allotey in a 10-round cruiserweight contest while Powers goes toe-to-toe with David Okine in light heavyweight.
The event put together by Landmark Promotion will also pitch Obodai Sai and Gabriel Adoku together in a super welterweight contest plus other mouthwatering encounters.
