Former President Jerry John Rawlings has congratulated Ghanaian boxer Isaac Dobgoe for winning the WBO Super Bantamweight title on Saturday in Philadelphia, USA.
Dogboe, 23, who is now the country’s youngest world boxing champion, claimed an impressive victory over 26-year-old former world title holder, Jessie Magdaleno.
The victory has generated a lot of attention and applauds from boxing enthusiasts including former President Rawlings.
In a tweet he said: "Congrats champion Isaac Dogboe. Hard work and perseverance leads to success. You’ve made Ghana proud. You have to sustain that hunger in order to emulate the greatest, Azumah Nelson!
