Mr Gilbert Glover, Executive Secretary of the Ghana Insurers Association (GIA) has called on Ghanaians to take insurance premium to secure their future security.
He was speaking at the end of a walk as part of activities marking this year’s Insurance Month celebrations in Accra on Saturday.
It was on the theme: “Insurance an industry of opportunity for national development.”
The walk started from the offices of the National Insurance Commission near the Ako Adjei Interchange through the National theatre, Makola Market to Tudu through Nkrumah Circle to Ring Road and ended at the starting point.
It was aimed at sensitising the public on the need to patronise insurance premium to ensure national development.
The Executive Secretary expressed the hope that Ghanaians would pursue the premium to cushion the future against the loss of their incomes.
Other activities planned for the celebration include fun games, lectures, dinner dance and thanksgiving church service.
About 1,000 members of the association took part in the six-kilometre four-hour walk.
