The Ghana Football Association has parted company with Goran Stevanovic as the Black Stars coach today.
This comes after three weeks of extensive meetings to ensure that the best decision is taken in the best interest of the nation.
Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi said: "We would like to express our gratitude to the general public for their concerns about the national team and their patience so far."
Assistant coach Kwesi Appiah has been asked to take temporary charge of the team until a substantive coach is named.
The 45-year-old’s current contract with Ghana will end in February 2013 after agreeing a two-year deal last year. The Serbian led Ghana to finish fourth at the just ended Cup of Nations finals.
He played 17 matches; won nine, four draws and four defeats.
In a related development, Plavi is reported to have rejected a 200,000 euro compensation offered him by the FA.
Sources at the GFA say, the coach earlier rejected a 120,000 euro compensation in his first meeting with GFA officials.
Plavi is said to be demanding in excess of 300,000 euros before he packs out of the country to find a new job.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports reaching peacefmonline.com say that 1998 World Cup winner Marcel Desailly is the main candidate to succeed the Serbian.
