Defending champions of the Cup of Africa Nations for Amputee Football (CANAF) Liberia, has per the rules of the competition, returned the trophy to Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Minister of Youth and Sports, ahead of the 4th edition of the competition in Kenya, next month.
Marvin Cooper, President of the Amputee Football Federation of Liberia (AFFL), who presented the trophy to the minister, expressed appreciation to the minister for Ghana’s support for amputee football on the continent.
He said Ghana had over the years supported the development and promotion of amputee football and this was hugely manifested in the donation of the present trophy to the continental body by former president of Ghana, the late John Evans Atta Mills.
