The three member Presidential commission set up to investigate into matters relating to the disappointing Black Stars outing at the last World Cup in Brazil, has served notice that it will be inviting the technical team of the Black Stars headed by Coach Kwesi Appiah and a number of players to question them on the happenings in Brazil.

In a Press Release issued on Monday, August 11, and signed by the Chairman of the Commission, Justice Senyo Dzamefie, listed the range of bodies and persons it will be inviting to appear before it to answer questions that will help the Commission to fulfill its terms of reference.

The bodies and persons to be invited include – Ministries of Youth and Sports, Foreign Affairs, Finance and Bank of Ghana; Management and Technical Team of the Black Stars and playing body of the Black Stars; all corporate sponsors of the Black Stars for the Brazil 2014 World Cup; Service Providers of the Black Stars team like caterers and Ambassadors and Artistes to the Brazil 2014 World Cup

President John Mahama last month set up the Commission to delve into issues surrounding the 2014 World Cup appearance of the Black Stars.

The commission was among others tasked with the following terms of reference - “to enquire into matters relating to Ghana’s Black Stars team’s preparations for the tournament and possible lapses therein which might have caused their early exit from the tournament; to enquire into matters relating to the management of the Ghana Black Stars team and events in their camp during the tournament; to inquire into matters relating to Ghana’s treatment of Ghanaian football fans who were sent to support the Black Stars by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and to inquire into all other related matters of public interest concerning the organization of Ghana’s Black Stars’ participation in the tournament”
