The Presidential Commission of Inquiry was set up to probe events surrounding Ghana’s uninspiring campaign in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil by President John Dramani Mahama.

The Commission is chaired by Justice Senyo Dzamefe, an Appeal Court Judge and ably assisted by Moses Foh-Amoaning, lawyer and Sports Administrator and Kofi Anokye Owusu Darko, a Banker and Sports Enthusiast.

Apart from the numerous and shocking revelations that has come out of its sittings, the commission has also seen prominent people shedding tears during proceedings.

First, it was the former Minister of Youth and sports, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, followed by a former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Adenta constituency, Kojo Adu-Asare.

Some have described the action of these prominent people as insincere and others claim it is a sign that they are being truthful.

Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide newspaper does not understand why anyone will cry when ‘there is serious business going on at the commission’.

According to him, the Justice Dzamefe Commission is not a National Reconciliation Commission, hence there is no need for anybody to go there and cry.

“We are hearing of bizarre things at the commission and now people have decided to go there and cry. I don’t understand. It is not a National Reconciliation Commission were crying will be part of the healing process; this is a serious business… and so crying is not needed.

Kweku Baako also expressed shock at the various exposé being disclosed at the commission especially how GHC34 meant for feeding fee in Brazil, metamorphosed into $35. According to him, “it is a shame and I don’t know why some people are happy. It is an embarrassment on the nation and the government”.
