Peacefmonline.com has learnt that on March 4 next year, the very first African Sports Legends Awards is expected to rock the capital, Accra.
The event is being put together by My Sports Organization and is aimed at honouring sports heroes on the continent.
Legends like ex-presidents- Jerry John Rawlings and John Agyekum Kufuor and other personalities like Ibrahim Sunday, Roger Miller, Abedi Pele, DK Poison, Azumah Nelson, Mike Ahey, Haile Gebrselassie, George Oppong Weah, Kwesi Nyantakyi, Stephen Appiah, among others would be decorated with various degrees of honours for their respective contributions to football development on the continent and beyond.
Chief Executive Officer of My Sports Organization, Anim Addo of UTV fame said “it is high time we celebrate those who made our continent proud in terms of sports development. All is set for the maiden edition next year”.
“We are talking to some sponsors who have bought into the idea of honouring those who once upon a time flew the continent’s flag very high,” he stressed.
