Ghana once again failed to progress in the ongoing Rio Olympics in Brazil as Javelin thrower John Ampomah could not qualify to the finals.
The National record holder and the captain of team Ghana at this year’s event failed to beat the qualification mark of 83m after throwing 80.39m to finish 19th.
Ampomah was Ghana’s only hope at the Rio Olympics after the country failed to excel in all disciplines participated in at the multi-sports competition.
Team Ghana will hence be hoping to make an impression when the women’s 4x100 comprising Janet Amponsah, Gemma Acheampong, Beatrice Gyaman and Akua Obeng-Akrofi takes the stage this afternoon in the countries final event.
