All Is Set For NC Special Women's Competition On Saturday

The Normalisation Committee (NC) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), is set to organize the special competition for women on Saturday, March 9, at the various centers across the country.

The clubs, have been inactive for about eight months following Ace investigative Journalist, Anas' expose on corruption at the GFA.

The clubs are excited that, Women's football would resume after the long hold up.

The NC, with one of their mandate, as running the day to day affairs of the GFA, introduced the competition to put the players active and in shape, whilst the processes of normalization continue.

Though, the clubs have had a short time to prepare their players, they look poised to win the maiden trophy and the undisclosed cash for the winner.

Per the format, the clubs have been grouped into four, where Groups A and B represents the Northern zone, whilst C and D are made up of teams in the southern zones.

Ampem Darkoa, who were leaders in the Northern zone last year would take on Northern ladies at the Ohene Ameyaw Park, while Prison ladies, travel to Tamale to battle Pearlpia at the Utrecht Park.

Also, in the same group, Fabulous ladies would city host rivals Ashtown ladies at the Wesley College Park, with Supreme ladies playing Kumasi Sports Academy at the Premier College Park.

Elsewhere at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium, it will be a battle fit for the gods when LadyStrikers welcome former champions of the National Women's League (NWL) Hassacas Ladies whilst Soccer Intellectuals face Elmina Sealions at Ajumako.

At the Carl Reindorf Park in Accra, experienced side Immigration Ladies would come up against Samaria Ladies, whereas Police Ladies play at home to Halifax Ladies at the Teshie MATS Park.

According to the NC, the losing clubs at the Group stage would be eliminated with the winners advancing to the knockout stage.

The winners of that phase would also progress to the last four in each zone with the winners playing in the finals.

Each club would pocket Ghc7,500 for participating, whilst the clubs that progress to the quarter and semi-final stage would take Ghc3000 and Ghc5000 respectively with the ultimate prize for the winner yet to be disclosed.
