The Ghana Rugby Football Union and the National Sports Authority (NSA) have taken their technical collaboration to a higher level.
As part of the astounding collaboration, both Ghana Rugby and the NSA successfully completed an exposure and training programme which saw world rugby trainer and educator, Rafatu Inusah, traveling to the United Kingdom.
Rafatu Inusah spent time with Ghana Rugby technical director, Collin Osborne and also interacted with the English National Coach, Eddie Jones and other significant coaches.
The highly-ranked Ghana Rugby Union Board member also spent training time at Wimbledon, Wasps, and Barnes.
Professor Peter Twumasi, NSA Boss
Mrs. Inusah was grateful to the Director-General of the National Sports Authority, Professor Peter Twumasi for the unflinching support to the Ghana Rugby Union.
She noted that the NSA has been supportive to not only the Ghana Rugby Union but the entire sporting federations since Professor Peter Twumasi assumed office as the Director-General of the National Sports Authority.
Rafatu Inusah who is also a Director of Ghana Rugby Union and President of Northern Region Rugby Association also heralded the Ghana Rugby national team coaches Lovemore and Jeffrey for their commitment in developing the rugby game alongside astute rugby coach Collin Osborne.
She said the recent successes of the Ghana Rugby Union are a testimony to the technical planning and development with Africa and World Rugby as well as the internal structures in place to benefit from these structures.
The Ghana Rugby men’s team have won the West African 1D Championship, Bronze Cup Championship and the Challenge Cup Championship while the women’s team have also won the Challenge Cup Championship – a record Rafatu Inusah believes is a testimony that the growth has been managed in line with the mission statement of the President of the Federation, Herbert Mensah.
