Ex-France international Marcel Desailly is worried about the fitness level of the Black Stars players ahead of the 2010 Fifa World Cup finals in South Africa.
A young Ghana side shocked pundits by grabbing silver at the recently concluded Orange Africa Cup of Nations in Angola. The Black Stars achieved that feat without some key players who were out injured but the Ghana-born star doubts if the physique of the current set-up can send them far at the mundial.
He told Citi FM: ''We have a young and promising team but my only worry is whether they have physicque to play at the worlds biggest stage.'' "I dont know if Vorsah or Addy can stand the pressure of playing among the world deadliest and best strikers. When it comes to the world cup there are no compromises and the physical strength of the team will come in handy.
"We have a good coach who is tactically sound but he has to prepare the players physically so they can cope with the physical demand of the tournament." Ghana play Serbia in the Group D opener before matches against Germany and Australia.
