DIEGO MARADONA will become manager of Al Wasl in Dubai after greeing a two-year deal. The Argentina legend met the Al Wasl players at a training session on Saturday evening and spent the weekend in the United Arab Emirates.
The great of world football has been out of work since guiding his home nation to the quarter-finals of the World Cup in South Africa last year.
Al Wasl's vice-chairman said: "We have reached an agreement with Maradona and we will release details later."
The club are fourth in the UAE league table with five games remaining and have been managerless since sacking Brazilian Sergio Farias last month. Maradona is expected to be in charge for the start of next season.
