Asamoah Gyan has admitted to being worried of his inability to get on the score sheet for his English side, Sunderland.
The Ghana striker has failed to score in the first three games of the new Premier League campaign and has come under intense pressure from club fans especially following the derby defeat to Newcastle.
The barren spell, the 26-year-old has confessed, is gradually becoming a major source of worry.
It is a bit frustrating especially when you look at my scoring record where I score at least a goal in every three games, he exclusively told GHANAsoccernet.com.
This time it is not happening and when I assess myself I sometimes ask what is going wrong but this is life and every good thing starts that way.
But I hope everything changes and I start banging in the goals.
Gyan also believes the growing expectation of him after his impressive maiden season in English football has accounted for the mounting pressure on him to deliver.
People now think maybe I am the spearhead of the team and therefore the need to carry the team but it is not happening at the moment.
Definitely people are expecting a lot from me and personally I have been through this before with the national team where the expectations were huge in 2008.
This happens in football, sometimes there are ups and downs in this game and what matters is to put your head up and keep going, he added.
