Club director, Alex Ackumey insists New Edubiase’s pole positioning in the Premier League is purely based on merits.
Edubiase have managed to shrug off competition from the favoured clubs to bulldoze their way to the Premier League summit which has got everyone wondering whether we are in for yet another surprise winner.
However critics believe the early season form of the Bekwai-based club is just temporal and is as a result of the stuttering start of the expected league contenders but Ackumey begs to differ.
“I have heard talk which suggests our current position on the league is not because we are doing well but rather as a result of the false start of the favoured clubs,” he told GANAsoccernet.com.
“We have heard all of them but we are well focused on proving our critics wrong come the end of the season.”
Ackumey is banking on the his team’s mix of talent and experience while hoping the club draws inspiration from Aduana Stars and Berekum Chelsea who have won the title in the last two years in the pursuit of their first league crown.
“We have gained experience over our three-year stay in the top division and we believe we have a balanced mix of players to deliver the league crown.
“We also draw inspiration from what Aduana Stars and Berekum Chelsea have done in the last two-years and firmly believe we will achieve same come the season’s end,” he added.
