Olympique Marseille striker Jordan Ayew has described Wednesday nights 1-0 home defeat to Olympiacos in the Uefa Champions League as a big opportunity missed.
The 19-year-old was replaced after 61 minutes in the side which under-performed in front of their home fans.
A win could have sent Didier Deschampsďż˝ side through to the last 16 stage but must now defeat Borussia Dortmund next month to advance.
We have missed a big opportunity because even a draw would have virtually taken us through, Ayew said.
The teenager who has had more playing time this season and impressed admits their qualification is in jeopardy.
Borussia Dortmund lost to Arsenal so now its going to be very tense because Olympiacos have six points and everyone has a chance to qualify. We are going to have to go to Dortmund and win, he said.
I honestly dont know why we underperformed. I felt like everything was going well. Theres a great atmosphere in the team, everyone laughs and gets on well together.
We all really wanted to get three points after losing at Montpellier. But we didnt do the business.
Now we have to pick ourselves up for Sunday because thats not going to be easy game.
