Chelsea star Michael Essien could reunite with former boss Guus Hiddink at Anzhi Makhachkala.
Reports from Russia claim Hiddink has been encouraged by news Essien could become available at the end of the season.
The box-to-box midfielder seems to have lost some power after knee operations in each of the past two seasons but he could still attract a good price.
Essien has been an influential figure at Stamford Bridge since joining from French side Olympique Lyon in 2005.
Hiddink worked with Essien during his six months at Chelsea and would love to take the Ghana international to Eastern Europe.
