John Eshun has quit Ghana Premier League side Berekum Arsenal as head coach, MTNFootball understands.

The ex-Ghana captain has decided to step down after falling out with the fans.

Eshun was chased out by the fans at half-time during their Premier League match against city rivals Chelsea two weeks ago.

The 69-year-old took charge of the Gunners in December last year and had gone eight matches without a win.

He was absent from the bench when they lost 3-0 at Heart of Lions last Thursday to leave to leave them in second-bottom after 18 rounds of matches.

Eshun was technical director at Ebusua Dwarfs but was relieved of his duties before the start of this season.

He played in two Nations Cup finals in 1968 and 1970 and also played at the 1968 and 1972 summer Olympics.
