Ghana striker Jordan Ayew scored all two goals as Marseille beat Moldovan side FC Sheriff 2-1 in their Europa League play-off first leg tie on Thursday.
The 21-year-old put Marseille ahead on 18 minutes after slamming an unstoppable shot past the hosts’ goalkeeper but Tomislav Pajovic levelled for the nine minutes later.
Jordan restored the lead for Elia Baup’s side eight minutes after the break.
Pierre-Andrea Gignac picked out Jordan early in the second half and the forward calmly finished off the attack.
His superb display comes in the wake of reports linking him to a move to English side Reading but the Premier League club have denied the move.
Jordan’s elder brother Andre Ayew missed the tie due to injury.
