Ghanaian players abroad have taken to micro-blogging website Twitter to send their condolences to Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan who lost his mother on Tuesday.
The UAE-based player was informed about the shock demise of Cecilia Love Amoako who had a car accident and later died at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.
Juventus midfielder and Gyan’s roommate while on international duties was the first to sympathize with the Al Ain striker.
He posted via his official Twitter account [email protected]: “My sympathies to @ASAMOAH_GYAN at this time. May your mother Rest In Peace!”
Victoria Guimaraes left-back David Addy also wrote: “@ASAMOAH_GYAN My deepest sympathies during ur time of loss.May u take comfort in knowing an angel is watching over u.u are in my prayers.”
Yussif Chibsah, a player of Gefle in the Swedish Allsvenkan, with his official Twitter account @CHIBSONY17 said: “Have my condolence @ASAMOAH_GYAN . May her soul R.I.P.P #BJ’sMum.”
Gyan is expected in Accra on Friday ahead of a family to fix a date for her mother’s burial.
