JOSE MOURINHO has dropped the biggest hint yet that he will return to the Premier League this summer but NOT to take charge of Manchester United.
The Special One, who faces United tonight, said: After Real Madrid, Id like to manage in England. I love everything about England. You will see when that will be.
Normally it will be my next step.
But Mourinho reckons the United job is out of reach, with Alex Ferguson, 71, still going strong.
Mourinho, 50, added: I dont think I will succeed Sir Alex.
I think we will finish our careers more or less at the same time. He will be 90 and I will be 70.
United visit the Bernabeu this evening in the glamour tie of the first knockout round of the Champions League.
Mourinho, widely expected to leave Madrid in the summer, added: Real have won this trophy nine times and I have won it twice. We are both privileged. I want this to be a great spectacle and I hope United do, too.
For sure, its the match of this round of the Champions League. Its the most important one. Everybody is waiting for this match.
If I know the culture of English football and a manager like Sir Alex, I dont think they are thinking of playing anything other than a big match.
Mourinho also claimed Real forward and former United star Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest player he has ever worked with.
The Portuguese boss added: Cristiano is the most fantastic player Ive had. Hes at a higher footballing level. Hes out of this world.
