Asante Kotoko survived a scare to draw 1-1 with Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports stadium in week 24 of the Glo Premier League.
Kotoko dictated the pace of the game in the opening minutes and threatened to go ahead, but it was Hearts of Oaks Winful Cobbinah, who, on the 30th minute mark, put his side ahead against the run of play, with a powerful drive.
Hearts continued pressing after the goal, but could not consolidate their lead before the first-half break.
The second half resumed with Kotoko striving to equalise and avoid another loss to their arch-rival.
The breakthrough came on 66 minutes when midfielder Michael Helegbe beat goalkeeper Luggard to slot the ball into an empty net.
Both sides could have gone ahead before the 90th minute, but were let down by a lack of clinical finishing.
