Ghana striker Mahatma Otoo has donated a quarter of his contract renewal sum worth $7,500 to Hearts of Oak fans for their support during the season.
The 21-year-old newly crowned Ghana Premier League top-scorer signed a new one-year deal worth $30,000 though he is set to leave the club in the next two months.
Hearts fans were highly impressed with their side’s form in the second half of the season grinding from the relegation zone to finish just below a top-four spot.
Otoo racked up 22 goals in all competitions in the just ended season and capped his impressive season with a stunning hat-trick that pushed Tema Youth to relegation from the Ghanaian top-tier at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The vociferous fans of the 19-time Ghanaian title winners stormed onto the Accra Sports Stadium pitch to carry the powerful attacker shoulders high in appreciation of how he masterminded the Phobians wonderful season performance.
A Hearts of Oak supporters group leader together with former management member Ashford Tetteh Oku present in a short meeting where Otoo gave the money to the supporters leadership.
The striker has been regularly invited by Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah for the Black Stars international assignments but he is yet to make a senior Ghana debut.
