Ghana U20′s mercurial midfielder Clifford Aboagye has lashed out at the performance of the teamďż˝s defence at the just-ended World Cup insisting a better performance from the defenders could have won the Black Satellites the title.
The Italy-based playmaker, who was named the third best player at the tournament in Turkey, says despite the impressive showing of the teams striker the defence allowed their opponents to dominate them.
Aboagyes assessment is backed by the statistics at the tournament as the Black Satellites conceded 12 goals in the 7 matches they played at the tournament.
We had a porous defence and that let us down. Even though our strikers were scoring, our defence let us down, Aboagye told Takoradi-based Skyy Power FM.
The Black Satellites returned to Ghana on Sunday night after finishing third in the competition.
