Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has boldly declared he wants to win the 2014 Brazil FIFA World Cup finals.
The ex-national team captain became the first local trainer to guide the Black Stars to the mundial with a 7-3 aggregate win over Egypt in the playoff.
Appiah was an assistant to Serb Milovan Rajevac at the 2010 finals in South Africa where Ghana finished in the quarter finals.
Automatically every team goes into the World with the intention of winning it so once we have qualified thats my ambition, Appiah is quoted by Accra-based Joy FM.
It doesnt matter the team we draw in the group stages, whatever group we fall in I always believe that weve got the capabilities and our players should be able to cope with it.
If youre thinking of not facing Spain or Brazil then why are you going to the World Cup, you should prepare yourself to face any team that comes your way.
You always go to the World Cup with the intention of winning it so how can you go there when you are afraid of Brazil, Spain or whatever?.
Ghana will know their Group opponents on 6 December when the draw is held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The four-time African champions played in the last two editions of the World Cup finals.
