Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Helegbe could be heading out of the club if nothing is done to convince him renew his contract, Ghanasportsonline.com can reveal.
Ghanasportsonline investigations reveal that the player's current contract with Kotoko expires on Jan 7, 2014 and the player has insisted he wants one more year despite persistent push by Kotoko officials to table a three year deal.
In a related development, Accra Hearts of Oak has been highly tipped to be the beneficiary if Helegbe quits Kotoko.
The Ghana midfielder left Guingamp after two years in August 2009 to join Belgian second division club KV Oostende on a one-year deal. On 29 September 2010 he announced his return to Ghana and signed with Liberty Professionals F.C. After two years with Liberty, he joined Kotoko in September 2012.
