Moment after the 2014 FIFA World Cup draw in Brazil, some football pundits and fanatics have described Ghana’s group (Group G) as the “group of death”.
Black Stars Captain, Asamoah Gyan has joined the chorus by admitting that Group G of the FIFA World Cup draw is unquestionably the most difficult group Ghana has ever been placed in its World Cup history.
Speaking on Asempa FM, the Al Ain striker opined that though the Black Stars will meet tougher opponent in Brazil 2014, he is very optimistic of exceptional performance from his team mates.
“Ghana is in the group of death but we will get there,” he said.
Ghana has been drawn with Germany, Portugal and United States for the 2014 World Cup finals to be staged in Brazil next year.
The Black Stars will play their opening group game against the United States of America. It will be the third time in succession Ghana will be meeting the USA in all three world cup appearances since 2006.
The FIFA World Cup final draw took place at the luxurious Costa do Sauípe in Salvador, Brazil.
