The general captain of the Black Stars, John Mensah has confirmed that he is completely fit and is targeting a spot at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The last time John Mensah wore a Black Stars jersey was August 15, 2012 in a friendly against China during which he aggravated his chronic back injury.
“I have been on treatment and I have been doing some personal training too. I have always served Ghana and I still hold that dream in my heart. I have gone through a fair share of injuries in my career but it’s always been part of the game and as a footballer these are some of the challenges.”
“I am targeting a place in Ghana’s World Cup team God willing and I am positive I have made a full recovery.I am not finished yet as many people have said and written about me.”
Mensah, currently unattached, also confirmed to Allsports.com.gh that he will find a club during the winter transfer window to continue his recovery.
Mensah has played only seven games since the 2011/2012 season.
