Barely two seasons since he last played for a club, former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah, has hinted of a possible return to active football in January.
The former Fernerbahce star, whose career took a tumble due to a knee injury, said in an interview with the Graphic Sports that he was close to clinching a deal but preferred to keep the identity of the club under wraps until he completed the paper work.
Two seasons ago, Appiahs botched deal with Perspolis FC in the Iranian league raised a lot of concerns, leaving him clubless for a long time.
It is true Im returning to the pitch in January, I have a couple of offers but I dont want to disclose it here, I always want to put pen to paper before I say a word, the midfielder stated.
At 33, Appiah, who is considered by many as one of the best players to have captained the Black Stars, does not think its time to hang his boots as he believes he still has a lot to offer as a footballer.
After his recovery, Appiah has had stints with Cesena in the Italian serie A before moving to Serbian side, FK Vojvodina.
