Maxwell Konadu was proud of his teams African Nations Championship campaign despite their defeat by Libya in the final on Saturday.
The Local Black Stars lost 4-3 on penalties to the Mediterranean Knights at Cape Town to leave them without a major silverware since 1982.
Having started the tournament as one of the favourites, the second -place finish seems to have dimmed all their hard work but the Black Stars coach insists hes been buoyed on by the commitment of his players.
Im very proud of the boys because they played their hearts, he said
This is one thing which was very evident. They were determined to win but unfortunately we lost.
The team is expected to arrive home on Monday night.
