Albert Sam, Head of Corporate Communications of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) says Daniel Kenu didnt even tell his lawyer of his decision to drop the case against Baffour Gyan and Samuel Anim Addo.
The Ashanti Regional Editor of the Daily Graphic newspaper, Daniel Kenu dropped the assault case against the duo, citing personal reasons.
Kenu was allegedly assaulted by Baffour Gyan and some thugs at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, just a day to the Starsďż˝ AFCON qualifier against the Cranes of Uganda.
Even though Kenu has apologized accordingly, some are still convinced that he dropped the case because he was given a huge amount.
Speaking in an interview, Mr Sam described Kenus decision as a bombshell because they were hoping the case will be a lesson to those who have been taking journalists for granted.
We were very surprisedwe wanted to use this case to send a message that you cannot just treat a journalist anyhow and get away with it but he told Kwami Sefa Kayi in an interview.
According to him, GCGL will make further deliberations on the issue in a meeting which will be held on Tuesday.
Mr Sam further narrated how Kenu kept his decision from his Managing Director, Kenneth Ashigbey.
