Al Ain striker Asamoah Gyan has said he has no plans to retire as Ghana captain now.
The 29-year-old striker has come under intense pressure following Ghanas 2014 Fifa World Cup debacle.
People have been raising questions over my role as captain in the Black Stars but I'm surprised with these questions, Gyan told reporters in Accra ahead of their game with Guinea on Wednesday.
I'm still the captain of the team [Ghana] and I will remain captain until the day I will retire. Some people also question my role on the pitch because I talk less to the players during games but we all have our different ways in dealing with issues.
Most of our players are young so I always talk to them in the dressing room [before and during half time] to make them feel at ease," he added.
Gyan has scored 44 goals for Ghana.
