Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Helegbe says he is enjoying his playing career in the Lebanese Premier League with Tripoli Sporting Club.

The Ghanaian international who signed a one-year deal with the Lebanese outfit has been impressive for his side this season leading the goal king chat with five goals.

The 28-year-old is however daunted on the level of competitiveness in the Lebanese Premier League.

Speaking with Accra-based Happy Fm, the former Medeama SC and Liberty Professionals attacking midfielder expressed his satisfaction playing in the Lebanese top-flight.

“Everything is really going on well for me here in Lebanon. The league is very competitive and most of the Clubs have got African players which makes the League very interesting”.

“They play some physical football and as a professional am also applying my skill and techniques very well which is really helping me”.

“I have been focusing and working very hard at training sections and in all the games we’ve played so far, and I think that has helped me with my performance”.

The former Black Meteors captain is however aiming at winning the Lebanese Premier League title with his Club this season.

“We will be playing our next game against SAFA who are currently leading the league table. They are very good side and have got some experience players as well”.

“We are hoping to win that game in other to come top of the table which can boost us to go further to win the League”.

“I want to help my Club win the League after the season, because that is my ultimate aim. So I want to do well and help my Club emerge as Champions at the end of the season”.

Helegbe was one of the few foreign-based players who returned to play in the domestic League [Ghana Premier League] two seasons ago but has been able to salvage the opportunity to ply his trade abroad having featured for Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC in Ghana.
