A former captain of Nigeria Augustine "Jay-Jay" Okocha believes Ghana will stand tall at the Africa Cup of Nations next January.
The Black Stars have been paired in the same group with Algeria, Senegal and South Africa.
The former Frankfurt midfielder said he expects the West Africans to improve on their previous performance in Equatorial Guinea.
“I do expect no surprises during this Afcon , as was the case in 2012 when Zambia won the trophy,” the ex-PSG player told Lebuteur.
He added: “For me, the favourites are Algeria, Ghana, Tunisia and Ivory Coast, who for some time now have always been tipped to win the Afcon. The Ivorians have a team of talented players. I do not understand how they keep missing [the trophy] every time.”
“Maybe 2015 will be good for them,” Okocha opined.
The continent’s showpiece takes off January 17 and ends February 8.
