The agent of the Ghana and AC Milan midfielder says the player could join a Major League Soccer side this summer.
The agent of Ghana international Michael Essien has revealed they would consider offers from clubs in Major League Soccer this summer as the 32-year-old midfielder is expected to leave Italian side AC Milanby end of the season.
Essien has turned down offers from Greek sides Olympiacos and Panaithenaikos, with his agent, Fabrizio Ferrari, emphasising that a move to the U.S.A could materialised.
The former Chelsea player has had a torrid time at San Siro during the final lap of the current campaign, failing to get a starting spot with the Rossoneri.
“We have yet to receive a satisfying offer. We're looking for offers for next season,” Ferrari toldTuttomercatoweb.com. “Orlando? You never know. MLS is very interesting, and should offers arrive we'll consider them,” he said.
Essien joined Milan in January 2014, making only 13 appearances in all competitions this season, with club legend Znovmir Boban describing him as the worst signing in the history of Milan.
Essien, whose contract with Milan ends on June 30, has also been linked to FC Dallas as well as promoted English Premiership side Watford. Al Ain, Al Shabab and Al Jazeera have also shown interest in the Ghanaian.
His market value is currently pegged at €3 million.
