Players of the Black Stars have received their winning bonuses of $10,000 each for defeating Mauritius 7-1 in their opening 2017 AFCON qualifier. Ghanasportsonline.com can confirm.
Ghanasportsonline.com understands that the Sports Ministry settled the outstanding bonuses prior to the teams Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda last Saturday.
It was reported that the Sports Ministry was contemplating on slashing down the winning bonuses for the players from $10,000 to $5,000, a report which was later denied by the deputy Sports Minister Vincent Oppong Asamoah.
The players meanwhile are yet to receive their winning bonus after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Rwanda.
The Black Stars will take on Mozambique in their next Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on March 23, 2016.
The team is however expected to play Malaysia in a two-legged friendly in November this year.
