Asamoah Gyan has revealed he is working hard to regain full fitness to play for Shanghai SIPG as they host rivals Guangzhou Evergrande in the big Chinese derby this weekend.
The Reds are looking to further extend their lead on top of the Chinese Super League with a win over second-placed Evergrande on Saturday.
Gyan is a major doubt for Sven-Goran Erikssons side for the big game after picking up a knee injury while on international duty with the Black Stars.
But the former Al Ain ace says he is working extremely hard to be in great shape for the game.
Personally, I am working very hard to get myself in good shape for the game which is just three days away, he told his website AsamoahGyan3.com.
I was unable to play for my national team because of a slight knock but I am working hard to be ready for this game.
Asamoah Gyan is chasing further glory in the weekends derby clash after making in instant impact since his big money move to China.
The Black Stars captain has scored four in six league matches for Shanghai SIPG despite joining in for the title run-in.
