Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemnag Badu is delighted to captain the team in their upcoming friendly against Canada.
The Udinese midfielder will lead the team in the absence of General Captain Asamoah Gyan and deputy Andre Ayew who have all been ruled out due to injury.
Badu will thus be given the mandate as the leader on the pitch for the Black Stars as they take on the North American side in Washington.
The hardworking midfielder is however excited to lead the side out of the tunnel on Tuesday.
I think this is not the first time I will be captaining the team. I captained the team in our qualifying game against Togo in Ghana, he told Photo Journalist Senyuiedzorm Awusi Adadevoh in an interview at the Renaissance Dupont Circle Hotel in Washington.
It is always a privilege to captain a team like this. We missed our captain Asamoah Gyan and vice captain Dede Ayew so I have to take control of everything.
Coach Avram Grant has handed call-ups to US-based trio Kwadwo Poku, Dominic Oduro and Lyod Sam.
Tuesdays game is at exactly 11pm Ghana time.
