Accra Hearts of Oak has confirmed the departure of their general captain Kofi Abanga from the club following his inability to live up to the expectations of the Japanese trainer, Kenichi Yatsuhashi.
The ex- Aduana Stars midfielder who joined the phobians six years ago on controversial transfer saga from the Dormaa-based club has been asked by the management of the rainbow boys to look for another club due to his failure to capture the attention of the Japanese trainer.
In an interview, the spokesperson of the club Kwame Opare Addo affirmed that his outfit has officially parted ways with the veteran midfielder.
’’ It is true that Hearts has broken their long-term ties with Kofi Abanga after he failed to impress the coach in the pre- season exercise but we wish him all the best of luck,” he told GHANA Sports Newspaper.
Abanga becomes the fourth player to be axed by the former Ghanaian Champions within this week after offloading Kwaku Andoh, Tetteh Lugard and Hamza Mohammed.
