Former Dutch international of Ghanaian decent George Boateng wants Al Ittihad midfielder Sulley Muntari to be pardoned by the Ghana football Association after rendering an apology for his misconduct in the Black Stars team.
 
Muntari showed remorse following his disruptive behavior during the Black Stars participation at the 2014 FIFA World Cup as he officially wrote a letter to the Ghana football Association to plead for forgiveness.

The former AC Milan and Inter Milan midfielder was involved in a scuffle with an executive committee member over issue of bonuses.

Boateng who featured for the Holland National team from 2001-2006 wants the former Sunderland midfielder to be pardoned.

“Yes it is a good sign, and I think he should be pardoned,” he said.

“It is important he has realized his mistakes and have finally apologized so I think the football association must accept his apology.”

Muntari’s apology means he could be invited for the Black Stars next Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda.
